Services

Nose Knows LLC conducts discreet, certified, licensed olfactory consultations for bedbugs.  The company is positioned to support landlord and tenant issues that arise from any rental housing situation.  Proactive verification that the area is clear will provide legal direction for assigning source of the bed bugs and hence the cost of eradication.  New State Statutes require full disclosure of bed bug activity in rental housing beginning July 20, 2011.

It is evident that using bed bug dogs as part of an integrated pest management program can be a revenue positive result for hotels.

It reduces the need for applications and time consuming visual inspections, saving costs necessary for the specialized bed bug program that operates outside normal monthly fumigation or extermination programs.  Bed Bugs are an entirely different problem to solve compared to monthly spray and pray services and need an integrated approach that is best serviced by canines.

Often repeated searches are the most effective deterrent.  Many customers schedule monthly consultations that precede regularly scheduled Pest Control Operator visits.  Often, Nose Knows works directly with the Pest Management Professional you currently contract for applications making a seamless operation or a one stop shop for your bed bug management program.

Use of bedbug detecting teams demonstrates due diligence by business management.  Taking a proactive approach will reduce risks associated with lawsuits.  The company can provide documentation to respond to employee or customer complaints, skeptical buyers or renters, concerned parents with children at educational facilities or military barracks and groups in senior housing. This will become more important as Arizona implements ARS 33-1319 revising various Arizona Revised Statutes.

  • Service Programs

Nose Knows LLC provides different levels of consultation to the customer base:

    1. Quick Check or Spot Sweeps--useful for one-time only service based on an hourly rate.  This would be interesting for a residential customer that needs a few rooms  searched for the apparent source of infestation.  For commercial customers--this might entail an emergency sweep of a suspected area.
    2. Sweeps of Select Areas--useful for customers that are adverse to contractual commitments yet still require regular service with flexible targets.  The individual budget will dictate the level of service at an hourly or per room rate.
    3. Full Sweep--integrating detector dog services with existing contracted pest management programs on a routine basis for commercial customers.  This program offers emergency response guarantee within 48 hours.  Special rates apply for emergency situations.  On-site documentation of activities will be available at the facility.  Training programs for housekeeping and engineering/maintenance staff is included.  This is typically based on a per room charge.
 Why use Canine detection?

  • Canines are Integrated Pest Management at its best!
  • Dogs are necessary ingredient for a successful bed bug management program.
  • Ability to sniff out every last bedbug within a few inches.  Dogs can detect scents at molecular levels (PPT) and are considered cutting edge technology in the home inspection industry!  Proven and trusted by military and law enforcement to detect bombs, drugs, and other contraband.
  • Saves time (hence $$) and inconvenience of preparing for visual inspection.  Olfactory searches by dogs eliminate the errors associated with visual only assessment by humans.
  • Canines can search an area with their nose in 10% of the time that it takes a human to search and area with their eyes.
  • Dogs are up to 90-100% accurate versus humans that are about 30%.
  • Thus detector dogs enable customers to enact policies to exterminate bedbugs in homes, businesses,  and public areas with 3 times the accuracy in 1/10 the time as human inspection.
  • This reduces costs, risk and liability; with the customer retaining control of accountability and publicity.
  • Proactive programs ensure customers are not annoyed with finding the pests in your establishment--it also provides documentation of your efforts to provide a shield from claimants wishing to defraud the establishment.
  • If the Pest Management Professional is going to charge you $250 to $600 per room to treat the problem--is it worth $25 per room to be sure that bedbugs are present and in which rooms? Most owners would say YES!
  • The use of bed bug dogs in conjunction with visual inspections by a licensed pest management operator provides the best of both worlds in detecting early infestations.  Your Pest Control Operator may be part of the team consulting or assisting in identifying and proposing a treatment program.
  • Negligent business owners or managers subject their business to increased litigation costs and the potential of denied insurance claims.
